Who we are
The Biograph company was set up by Mary Corbett in Cambridge over ten years ago to provide a comprehensive writing and publishing service for people who would like to record their life story in a book. The idea was inspired by Robert Frost’s poem ‘The Road not Taken’
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I –
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Lucy Gaskell
Lucy Gaskell joined Biograph in 2003 and now runs the company.
‘Looking back over my life I am aware of the different experiences and influences that have shaped me. Capturing someone's life in a Biograph not only tells us about events that took place, it gives us insight and understanding about a person and what made them who they are.’ |

Mary Corbett
Mary Corbett continues to do some writing and editing and also teaches on courses for people who wish to write their own story.
‘If a life has a thread I want to find it and I am sure that it
is there if you look for it. In my previous career as teacher,
trainer, career guidance counsellor, university tutor and oral
historian, I spent many years listening to and helping others
recount their story.’ |

Lucy Gaskell is supported by a small group of experienced writers and book designers. We aim to provide a friendly and personal service. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you would like to discuss your project.
